How Upper Cervical Overcomes Hearing Loss, Tinnitus and Vertigo – Pt 1

Vertigo, Dizzy, Dizziness, SpinningMeniere’s Disease

If you suffer from spontaneous bouts of Vertigo and experience hearing loss, ringing in the ears (Tinnitus), and random feelings of fullness in your ear, that’s the result of a disorder in your inner ear. That disorder is commonly known as Meniere’s Disease, and those bouts of dizziness are the leading symptom of that condition.

While many people know Vertigo is the feeling or a room or other space rotating when it is not, many of those people may not be aware of the seriousness of health problems it causes. It can last anywhere from ten minutes up to 2 hours, and those who suffer from it may also experience nausea and/or vomiting. Once a person manages to overcome their battles with dizziness, they will continue to experience imbalance and fatigue for the next day or two.

Along with Vertigo, a person who suffers from Meniere’s Disease may also experience temporary hearing loss. It usually only occurs in one ear, but it may occur in both ears, and it usually occurs in low tones. That hearing loss must not go untreated, as leaving it alone may lead to permanent hearing loss. There may also be a feeling of pressure and/or fullness in that part of the ear that the Meniere’s Disease effects, as well as people who suffer from this disease may also experience Tinnitus.

Vertigo and Meniere’s

Often times those who don’t suffer from Vertigo, or who have never suffered from it, cannot fully understand the suffering of those who do suffer from it. People who battle this inner ear problem feel like everything around them is spinning, which reduces the quality of their life. This is most seriously experienced when a person attempts to do any such activity that involves movement. And the seriousness of this condition can lead to a person remaining bedridden until their battles are alleviated.

While the cause of Meniere’s Disease is unknown, Upper Cervical Chiropractic proposes a structural problem in the body is perhaps that underlying cause. That structural problem is caused when the upper cervical spine, which consists of the top two vertebrae in the spine become misaligned. That misalignment causes that irritation of the nerve that controls a person’s equilibrium and hearing.

Though, the good news is those negative effects of that misalignment can be reversed using a procedure called upper cervical chiropractic. Those trained in this gentle and specific form of chiropractic can examine examine the upper cervical spine for any misalignments in the upper neck that may be the underlying cause of Meniere’s Disease, Vertigo, Dizziness, and Disequilibrium. They will then make any necessary adjustments in order to realign the spine, so the body can begin to heal itself.
