The Effects of Traumatic Head Injuries Among Children

Head Injuries, child headache, Headache, Headaches, Head Injury, Traumatic Head Injury

It may be surprising to think about children suffering traumatic head injuries. Unfortunately, it does happen. We are going to take a look at two such case studies of Dr. Erin Elster and how the injuries affected the children. Then, we will see how upper cervical care helped them.

Just Out Playing

In Dr. Elster’s first case, an 8-year-old boy fell hard on the playground at school. When he fell, he felt a tingling sensation in his legs and arms. He was diagnosed with a spinal cord injury. He then began having loss of bowel and bladder control, causing him to run to the bathroom multiple times a day. This continued for 6 months.

Watching Television

The next case study is about a 6-year-old who was lying on the floor, and a television fell from the cabinet above him onto his face. He required surgeries to reconstruct the eye socket and the sinuses. After these had begun to heal, his mother noticed another problem. His behavior seemed to be changing. He was having double vision and chronic headaches. Doctors and neurologists felt the symptoms were permanent damage left from the head injury and nothing would be able to help.

Upper Cervical Care and Traumatic Head Injuries

The mothers of both of these boys decided to seek out the care of Dr. Erin Elster, who is an upper cervical chiropractor. An upper neck injury was present in both situations that went undetected by other doctors. By using digital infrared imaging and other similar techniques, Dr. Elster found the problem with both boys.

In the first situation, the boy’s bowel and bladder problems were corrected after just one adjustment. In the second case study, double vision, headaches, and any personality changes returned to normal after only a few weeks of chiropractic care.

Positive Results

As one can see, children can be at risk for serious injuries at times. However, the damage done does not have to follow them into adulthood. A simple neck adjustment may have them back to leading a care-free life in no time at all!
