Autism and how the Brain Communicates with the Body – Part 2

Autism, Autistic, Upper Cervical, ASDAutism and Your Baby’s Diet

Last week, we looked at how the brain communicates with the body via the spine, and how the brain cannot send the right signals to the body through the spine if the Axis vertebra is off by even half a millimeter. During the first three years of your baby’s life, it is crucial to their development that their upper vertebra is properly aligned with their brain stem.

During these first few years, it is imperative that the body receive the proper nutrients so the available Amino Acids are able to make the proper proteins. If the body is unable to go through the proper digestive process and convert the proper nutrients, a series of health problems can occur. Those health problems, which hinder further brain development, become more prevalent in Autistic children.

Upper Cervical and the GI System

What health problems occur because of one’s inability to properly digest food depends on which part of the GI system is not functioning properly. Here is a list of some of the more common disorders a person might experience if their digestive tract is not functioning properly.

  • Colic
  • Acid Reflux
  • Constipation
  • Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS)
  • Crohn’s disease
  • Heartburn
  • Cramping
  • Bloating
  • Diarrhea
  • Constipation
  • Bleeding

If your child is showing signs of any of these digestive disorders, a crying baby may only be the beginning of your sleepless nights. Their body’s inability to properly digest food means their brains are not receiving the proper nutrients needed for proper physical and mental development.

Over time, their body’s inability to receive nutrients that help them to develop physically and mentally could lead to further complications, including Autism. It is imperative that if your infant is showing signs of any of the above listed digestive disorders that you not assume it will go away on it’s own. An upper cervical specialist can determine the exact cause and help you set your child on a path to a healthier life.
